Service Areas

EHS-services1Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance (ERSEA)

Early Head Start recruits in the community and works to enroll families into the program. Eligibility includes anyone who has children under the age of three. Pregnant women are also eligible for services. All Early Head Start services are free of charge and can include:

  • Families who are income eligible.
  • Families with foster children.
  • Families experiencing homelessness.
  • Families with children who have disabilities

EHS-services2Education & School Readiness
Early Head Start provides educational services that support the developmental continuum of children. Utilizing the ‘Parents as Teachers’ curriculum, Early Head Start partners with families to achieve developmental milestones and school readiness goals.

EHS-services3Health, Nutrition, & Safety
Children must be healthy, safe and well‐nourished to learn. Our program is committed to assisting families in accessing resources to connect them with medical and dental resources offered within the community. Through home visits and program activities, Early Head Start gives parents the tools to provide a safe and healthy environment.

EHS-services4Disabilities
Early Head Start is committed to working with families to ensure that their children, including those with disabilities, receive the comprehensive services they need to meet their developmental, health, and social needs. Staff conducts regular screenings to identify children’s needs and collaborates with Early Intervention to coordinate services.

EHS-services5Mental Health
Services are designed to help strengthen the emotional and social development of infants and toddlers. Home Visitors provide screenings for infants and toddlers and work closely with families. Home Visitors meet regularly with a licensed mental health professional to discuss cases in depth and provide better quality service to families.

EHS-services6Transition
Research indicates that a child’s success in school can be linked, at least in part, to effective transition practices and activities. Early Head Start Home Visitors provide individualized transition materials for enrolled children.
