Empty Bowls

emptybowlsEmpty Bowls is an event held at Wanango Golf Club each year in the spring. Guest are fed a meal of soup and bread, prepared and served by local chefs:

Guests are asked to keep a bowl to remind them of the empty bowls throughout the world.  Over 300 bowls are made by area students from our four local school districts:

Cranberry Area School District

Franklin Area School District

Oil City Area School District

Valley Grove Area High School


A Silent Auction is held to purchase pottery donated by several artists.  This is coordinated by:

Allegheny Clay Works

There is also a basket raffle, filled with items donated from community businesses and Community Services of Venango County employees.

The Agency has raised over $7,500 from our two previous Empty Bowl Events.  All of this money is used to purchase food for our two food pantries.
